How do I know
If the words I say
Mean any difference
To how they feel?

I could be saying just words
Empty and meaningless
I feel so unhelpful
Sitting behind this screen

I see so much pain
Too much pain and sorrow
But all I can do is type
And pray they see it

The stars are long gone
Taking hope with it
Nothing is easy now
Nothing is simple

Do you know how much
I would give to be by your side
To wipe away the tears you shed
To hug you and protect you?

How do I know that my words help?
Simple, meaningless words
Tell me
DO I really help at all?
