I sighed and turned my head from the left to the right before stepping out into the road, slowly making my way to the hell-hole known as public high school. I was a senior but was new to the school, just as I was new to every other school I had ever been forced to attend. But that's what happened when you were bounced from foster home to foster home. You never became attached to the family you lived with and never made any close friends. In the end, you were always moved to another house.

I made it to the next crosswalk and stopped, traffic was still flowing. When I stepped up behind an older man, I looked past him. I was nearly at school. It wouldn't take much longer to get there, and hopefully I would before-

"Hey there Seychelle, how'd ya sleep?" A deep, grating voice sneered behind me. I growled low in my throat, too low for him to hear me, and tried desperately to ignore him. That, unfortunately, was made impossible when he grabbed my elbow roughly and made me turn around to face him, dropping my books to the rain slick pavement in the process.

The gentleman from before glanced back at us but, seeing the size of my captor, turned back and hurried across the street. I growled again, furious. For the love of all that was good, what happened to chivalry or bravery? I looked back up at the teenage boy that held me, my blue-grey eyes blazing with anger. "Get your hand off me Alex." I hissed.

"Says who? The little foster girl?" He smirked and ran a hand through my long hair. "No, I think it's time I show you how to have a little fun." He said and lunged. I ducked and spun, elbowing him powerfully in the gut. Alex doubled over and I darted into the street, never taking my eyes off him.

"Watch out!" Someone shouted. I turned and a blaring honk filled my world a mere second before I was plowed over by a speeding truck. I didn't even have enough time to scream before hitting the front of the truck, lifting off the ground and being thrown into the windshield. Then I was going up and over the entire truck, slamming into the ground behind it with a sickening crunch as my head slammed into the asphalt. Every part of my body was screaming. Many of my bones had been broken, my brain felt like it was hammering right out of my skull, and I was bleeding out all over the road. Areas of my skin peeled back like a filleted fish, my aorta ripped apart, and many of my bones reduced to splinters.

Someone knelt down beside me and I looked up to find Alex there. His dark eyes were wide and full of terror and shock. He pulled my head into his lap, his hands shaking so badly he could barely hold me. I felt sorry for him, he'd probably feel guilty later since he had made me step out into the road. But I looked up at him, my blue-grey eyes dimming and dulling swiftly and a sad smile spread across my lips. "Goodbye." I whispered softly and let my eyes close for the last time.
Ok, so I had a thought about a series I could do last night. I couldn't sleep until I wrote it down. So, yeah, here y'all go. So, here's the prologue and I'll get working on the first chapter.

I like it alot
but it comes at you too fast, like it doesn't give me enough detail... I know it's the prolouge but just the way this whole story is just thrown right at me so quickly is kind of driving my brain insane. Lol.
Wonderful start though!!!
